ABOUT THIS READER

It explains how burning fossil fuels for energy releases greenhouse gases, and how deforestation reduces the Earth's capacity to absorb these gases. The text also mentions other factors like livestock farming and waste production. By linking these activities to everyday life, such as using cars and consuming products, the passage helps children understand how individual actions can collectively impact the climate, encouraging awareness of their own environmental footprint.

CONTENT PREVIEW

How do humans contribute to climate change?

Humans contribute to climate change in many ways. We burn fossil fuels like coal and oil to make energy for cars, homes, and factories. This releases greenhouse gases into the air. We cut down forests, which help absorb these gases. We also raise lots of cows for food, and cows produce methane. Even the way we make and throw away things can add to climate change. Our daily choices can either help or hurt the planet.
