The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is a natural wonder located off the coast of Australia. It stretches for over 2,300 kilometers and is the world's largest coral reef system. This incredible underwater world is home to thousands of species of marine life, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and dolphins. The reef is made up of tiny animals called coral polyps that build hard skeletons around themselves.

Over time, these skeletons form the large structures we see as coral reefs. The Great Barrier Reef is so big that it can be seen from space! It's not just beautiful – it's also important for protecting coastlines from storms and providing a home for many sea creatures.
