Thanksgiving: A Time for Gratitude and Family! 🦃

Did you know that Thanksgiving is more than just turkey and pumpkin pie? It’s a special time when families come together to share food, make memories, and remember all the things they’re thankful for!
The Story of the first Thanksgiving
In 1620, a ship called the Mayflower carried 102 people (called Pilgrims) across the ocean from England to America. They landed at Plymouth Rock during a very cold winter and had a really hard time finding food and building homes.
Thankfully, Native Americans from the Wampanoag tribe, especially two brave men named Squanto and Samoset, helped the Pilgrims! They taught them:
- How to grow corn
- Which plants were safe to eat
- How to hunt and fish
- Where to build their homes
After their first successful harvest in 1621, the Pilgrims invited their Native American friends to share a big feast. This three-day celebration became known as the First Thanksgiving! They ate deer, fish, corn, and maybe even wild turkey.
