Diwali: The Festival of Lights! πͺ
Hey kids! Did you know that millions of people around the world celebrate a beautiful festival called Diwali? It’s a magical time when homes sparkle with tiny lamps, colorful rangoli decorations brighten the streets, and the night sky fills with fireworks!
The story of Lord Rama and Diwali celebration β¨
Long, long ago, there lived a brave prince named Rama. He was sent away from his kingdom for 14 years with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana. While they were living in the forest, an evil king named Ravana kidnapped Sita!
Rama didn’t give up hope. With help from his friend Hanuman (a mighty monkey warrior) and an army of monkeys and bears, Rama built a bridge across the ocean to Ravana’s kingdom. After an epic battle, Rama defeated Ravana and rescued Sita.
When they returned home, the people were so happy that they lit thousands of clay lamps (called diyas) to welcome them back.
That’s why we light diyas during this festival – to remember how good triumphed over evil! π₯
